Creating a spacious second story with a wonderful view
This project updated and expanded a charming, older Berkeley hills home in a style that is classic with a contemporary twist. A new second story replaced a head-knocking converted attic with a spacious and soaring Master suite, two additional bedrooms and bath – all in the same footprint. The new stairway is light-filled and welcoming. The beautiful new master bedroom has cathedral ceilings and a fantastic view of the bay and three bridges. Now open to the dining room, the new bright, livable kitchen has more workspace and a sunny eat-in nook.
